Crime Figures Drop In South Wales

Posted: August 17, 2010 by Joe King in Swansea Crime

According to a recent Home Office report South Wales crime figures have seen a significant drop.

South Wales Chief Constable Peter Vaughan comments;

“This is excellent news for South Wales Police and the communities we serve. We have played a significant role – along with our partners and the public in cutting crime to levels which are unprecedented in the region since the introduction of National Crime Recording Standards in April 2002.

“I am also delighted by the fact that our crime detection rates are continuing to increase across the spectrum of crime and particularly in some of the more serious offences categories such as robbery, sexual offences, and violence against the person. This reflects our professional approach to crime investigation against a backdrop of reducing crime.”

South Wales Police say crime figures have dropped for year 2009/10.

Jail for teenagers!

Posted: August 17, 2010 by Steve Lane in Youth Crime

Sometimes people just happen to be in the wrong place at a particular time. This was the case with David Parker, a student at Swansea University, who was walking back to his digs at the University on the 3rd of June. The defendants from the West Midlands, in a unprovoked attack, threw a bottle at him which struck Mr Parker on the head. They then proceeded to beat him up and stole his wallet containing just £42.

This case can be read about by clicking on the link below.
